Photosynthesis, the Plant Story

Phew. I got the results for my special term. Finally. :)

If there was something I learnt in the module, Physics in Life Sciences, that was Photosynthesis.

Level 1: (Primary School)
Photosynthesis: In the presence of light, water and chlorophyll (which was the second most difficult word that time), plants could make food and produce oxygen.

Level 2: (Secondary School)
More light was being shed with the knowledge about atoms, molecules and compounds
6H2O + 6CO2 --> C6H12O6+ 6O2
With the amazing light energy from the sun and in the presence of chlorophyll, six molecules of water plus six molecules of carbon dioxide produce one molecule of sugar plus six molecules of oxygen.

Level 3: (Junior College)
Thylakoids (organelles in chloroplasts found in the cell of a leaf), Photosystem II & I, the first and second electron transport system and the ATP synthase... With the names like phosphoglyceraldehyde and Calvin-Benson cycle, I thought I knew everything under the sun about photosynthesis.

Level 4: (Term Paper)
Talk about back breaking knowledge...

Level 5: (Future?)
Aarrrrrrrrggggggggggggghhhh...
