Dreaded Dreams

Before I blog for the final time about New Zealand, here's one dedicating to the dream I had last night.

Scene I
Typically for my dreams, I can't remember it began, but the earliest I could recall had something to do with my primary school Chinese teacher, who I used to loath. I don't know whether she was still teaching me as a primary school student but I recalled vividly that I was struggling to reason something out with her angrily... in mandarin.

Scene II
I entered a well-known haunted room. I was somehow looking for something but as I was about to leave the place, I caught a vague glimpse of something. I walked towards the entity and it turned out to be XJ.

I was perplexed to see her standing in the room and I reasoned out methodically how she even got there. Then it struck me, and I asked, "You're dead, right?"

She confirmed my suspicion as I was horrified to find out there was another two more people lurking in the room. One was a guy, called SY who had died from a air crash.

Feeling like Melinda Gordon in the Ghost Whisperer, I was a little overwhelmed in grieved.

Scene III
I was in some camp or some kind of training in an institution. Part of the programme needed me to undergo this process which would split my body into two. Nope, it wasn't gruesome or bloody but somehow, that process would turn you into two separate persons.

Because I thought there was still quite a lot of time to kill, I went to take a bite.

Scene IV
I was carrying my food tray and I saw VN sitting on the table, along with my VJC classmates. Apparently, they had already undergone the mysterious process and I was late for it!

I abandoned my food and rushed to the guy and gal in charge of this process and they allowed me to cut queue.

Excruciatingly, the guy/gal took something sharp and tried to split my back. Yup, it hurt pretty bad as he/she struggled to rip my spine. It was when they started cutting my limbs off that I kinda panicked.

Scene V
This process is called "Lameration" when I asked them how to spell it. Nope, they weren't attempting to chop me into pieces, but they were crudely "tatooing" my arm by intentionally scarring it. I and the guy manage to convince the lady not to "tatoo" a huge grid-like design which would probably finish me off in pain.

As they finished lamerating me, one of them asked me what the date was today which I recalled was in year 2007. He/she took a sharp ended metal piece and carved the date on my left arm.

Scene VI
It was time for them to split me into half. They took a bigger-than-normal metallic potato masher and placed it on my head. And Voila! Another Kelvin dressed in darker clothes appeared.

I did chatted with my other half (literally...) for a moment.

Scene VII
With my left arm still a bit bloody and sore and dressed only in my underwear, I was mildly embarrassed as I met ERN and another person, when I rushed up the stairs.

Scene VIII
On the next level, I suddenly felt the need to relive myself so I and another girl, possibly GRA entered this handicapped toilet. Nope, it wasn't just the usual one cubicle handicapped toilet but a humongous spacious one with many cubicles including urinals.

Of course I wasn't gonna use the urinal with her in the same toilet, so I pushed one of the cubicle doors open. Mysteriously, there was another door a metre away. Opening this other door led to another door. By this time, I was a bit worried and puzzled by this corridor of doors. But thankfully, the next door led to a real room fitted with a toilet bowl.

I called out to her if there was any problems but I was greeted with silence. After reliving myself quickly, I rushed out of the cubicle only to find her pointing to the sink. The tap was running and she mentioned about strange music playing from the tap.

I matter-of-factly showed her that the tap was musical and there was a knob at the sink which pointed to "Ritardando". GRA had at this time morphed into SH and passed me this stack of DVDs as we made our way hurriedly out of the toilet. I stumbled and dropped the stack of DVDs at the exit. Cursing as I picked up the mess, I exited the toilet, still remembering to switch off the lights.

Scene IX
As I and SH walked down a street at night, I chatted with SH about watching dramas such as Grey's Anatomy. She complained about how busy working life was and she was not able to watch as much as she wanted. I then boasted proudly that I could watch as many as 6 episodes a day. Two in the morning, two in the afternoon, and two at night.

Scene X
"No wonder you're not getting enough sleep," TRYS said.
"What has me watching TV gotta do with sufficient sleep?" I argued.

SH, a gal had morphed into TRYS, a guy. We had just alighted from a car in a multistory carpark. Upon clarification, I realized I had said, two hours of nap in the morning, two in the afternoon and two at night.

Scene XI
"But we were still supposed to go out with XJ today?!" I thought to myself. "How could she be dead?"

I called XJ only to discover her handphone was engaged...

I finally woke up.

Final Farewell

Well well.

I'm back in the University of Auckland, surfing the net at Kate Edger Information Commons, still attempting to use up the remaining dollar plus I have in my net account.

It's really been pretty shocking that the end of SEP is finally at my heels. It seems like yesterday that I blogged about the possibility of going on exchange. On hindsight, I find it really funny to recall how torn I was when I received the email stating that I could go on to New Zealand for a semester, thanks to a certain international student rejecting his place.

Now that I'm leaving this place tomorrow, I can't help but admit that Auckland, has inevitably become a part of me, a second home. (Sorry NUS. But you are now relegated to the third position.)

So as I sign off my username "blim027" for the last time...
Goodbye Auckland.
Cya New Zealand.

Cheers, mate.
