Election Ennui

What a week this has been!

In the Northern Hemisphere, we see democratic ideals being celebrated like never before, in the midst of tough economic times.
There was McCain playing catchup...
and who would forget Palin...

and her lipstick.
Change can come, but will it?

And in the distant Southern Hemisphere, New Zealand has also voted for a change of government. Helen Clark will be stepping down as leader of Labour Party too as she conceded defeat to John Key of National Party.
Changes of government seem to sweeping throughout but I wonder when will it ever occur in Singapore. As Catherine Lim, Singaporean fiction writer inks:
Suppose that after half a century of PAP leadership, fatigue sets in and Singaporeans yearn for that magical thing called change. Among the restive young, the prospect of liberties never experienced before must be exhilarating.

The idealist in me refuses to resign to fate.
